Targeted outreach, aimed at raising awareness of the lifesaving benefits of early detection tests and exams is key in reducing cancer mortality.
The "Gift of Life" is committed to increasing the consciousness of Southeast Texans about breast, prostate, testicular, brain, esophageal, ovarian and other gynecological cancers, as well as the negative health consequences associated with tobacco use. Our program engages in year-round activities designed to educate the public about good health practices, including preventative health care and the importance of annual cancer screenings. Educational tools include community presentations, health fairs, newsletters, television and radio public service announcements, billboards, flyers, yard signs, posters, and literature distribution.
