Representatives of the Julie Rogers "Gift of Life" Program and more than 100 cancer survivors on Tuesday announced plans for a Pink Extravaganza on Oct. 1.
The Putting on the Pink party will include a fun run/walk (named in memory of Julie Richardson Procter), activities for kids, musical performances and a luncheon.
Performer Tony Orlando will headline the celebration, which will take place in Beaumont's downtown.
In addition to the party, "Gift of Life" will again offer the Pink Shopping Card - a $50 savings card that offers shoppers 20 percent off certain buys from at least 600 participating retailers. Last year, more than 3,400 cards were purchased. The card can be used from Oct. 27-Nov. 7 of this year for 12 days of savings.
